Mulgrave Combined Cricket Association

Edmonton, Queensland

Mulgrave Combined Cricket Association has been playing out of a ground at Fuller Park Edmonton. The Cairns Regional Council is developing new grounds at Walker Road Edmonton which will initially include 2 cricket fields with future plans for a 3rd. Fuller Park is not large enough for all our junior and senior teams and Walker Road facility will enable all our teams to play at the same venue and allow us to continue to grow.

While the fields will be developed we need to raise funds to assist development

1. modern practice nets under a roof given the sun and rain issues we have in the far north

2. Lighting to enable games especially for our juniors to be played out of the heat of the day.

We expect these projects to benefit existing players, officials and supporters and to significantly increase participation. Other users of facilities including Cricket Far North Representative sides, other cricket clubs in the area, local schools, community groups including the local Indian community who now have a team under association umbrella, Rotary and the social players will also benefit from these facilities.
